Travel Itinerary

Day 1 ORIGIN - BOGOTÁ

Arrival in the city of Bogotá, the multicultural Colombian capital. One of our representatives will be waiting for you to go to the vehicle that will take you from the “El Dorado” International Airport to the chosen hotel. Check-in at the hotel. Accommodation. Notes: For departure transfers, the night schedule applies for flights between 11:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., and for arrival transfers it applies for flights between 9:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Rates are contemplated for daytime transfers, if night transfers apply a supplement

Day 2 BOGOTÁ (City visit with Monserrate)

Breakfast at the hotel. Next, one of our representatives will pick you up at your hotel to go out to the historic center of Bogotá, where a pedestrian tour begins through the Plaza de Bolívar and the nearby streets, where you can see buildings such as the National Capitol, the center of legislative life. of the country; The House of the Communards; the Casa de Nariño, headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic; and panoramic visit of the Santa Clara Church Museum. You will enter the Gold Museum, where there are some 34,000 pieces of goldwork from various pre-Hispanic cultures, and then you will go to the Quinta de Bolívar House Museum, where the Liberator Simón Bolívar lived. The route continues from the city's 2,600 meters above sea level to 3,152 meters, where the sanctuary is located where the image of the Fallen Lord of Monserrate is venerated. From there you can see the best panoramic view of Bogotá. Return to the hotel and accommodation. On Sundays the tour with ascent to Monserrate operates subject to availability and upon request. Duration: approximately 5 hours Operation: The regular service operates from Monday to Saturday around 9:00 a.m., for the private service it can be scheduled at 9:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.

Day 3 BOGOTÁ (Visit to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá)

Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time one of our representatives will contact you at your hotel to begin a tour of the Bogotá savanna until you reach Zipaquirá, whose name means 'city of our Father' in the Chibcha language. In pre-Columbian times, saline springs were exploited in this region to produce 'panes de sal', hard currency with which the Muiscas traded. Over time, technology changed and sinkholes began to be opened to extract greater quantities of salt. In these ancient underground galleries stands the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, 180 meters below the surface. There is a small miners' chapel in homage to the Virgin, Our Lady of the Rosary of Guasá (this word means 'mine' in Chibcha). At the end of the visit, return to Bogotá, to the hotel and accommodation. Note: The visit to the Salt Cathedral is not recommended for passengers who have any claustrophobic condition or who have mobility problems.

Day 4 BOGOTÁ – PEREIRA (COFFEE AREA)

Breakfast. At the indicated time, transfer to El Dorado airport in Bogotá to take a flight to the City of Pereira (Air ticket not included). Arrival at the Matecaña de Pereira airport, reception and transfer to the chosen hotel in the Coffee Zone. Check-in and accommodation. Notes: For departure transfers, the night schedule applies for flights between 11:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., and for arrival transfers it applies for flights between 9:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. The rates are contemplated for daytime transfers, if night transfers a supplement applies.

Day 5 COFFEE AREA (Coffee Process at “Coffee Farm”)

Breakfast, at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to “La Finca del Café” to begin a visit where we will learn about the Coffee Process in the company of a local expert, taking us through beautiful specialty coffee plantations, explaining what the coffee process is like from planting, Selective manual harvesting and pulping. Later, we will roast special coffee beans on a wood stove in the kitchen of the typical peasant house where we can have an authentic coffee experience. On the route there are several stations with viewpoints made of guadua where we can appreciate the beautiful landscape and natural environment of the place while enjoying a cup of coffee. Finally, we move on to the innovative coffee bean drying process, the mill, and then we will go to the main house where we will be greeted with a delicious coffee lemonade. Transfer to the hotel, rest of the day free and accommodation. Duration: approximately 3 hours plus transfer time depending on the location of the chosen hotel.

Day 6 COFFEE AREA (Cocora Valley and Salento)

Breakfast. At the agreed time, transfer to the Cocora Valley, upon arrival you will enjoy a typical drink (canelazo), there an eco guide will tell you about the place and will take you walking to the cloud forest where we can appreciate the biodiversity of fauna and flora of the place. where we will take the ecological trail of the tallest wax palm in the world and the national flagship tree where we will do the ritual of the wax palm of Quindío, which consists of learning the history of how the aborigines worshiped this palm. Then the planting of palm seedlings continues. Transfer to the typical town of Salento where we will have a walking tour visiting its colonial streets, artisan workshops and the Mirador de Cocora. Typical lunch and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. Includes: private transportation, environmental guidance and interpretation, welcome canelazo, regular ecological walk, wax palm ritual and introduction to the destination by local eco-guide, hydration, snacks and typical lunch with starter, main course and drink. Approximate duration: 6 hours of activity plus transfer time depending on your location. Note: Because this destination has a large attendance of local and foreign visitors on Sundays and Mondays, we recommend booking this tour on different days for a better experience. This also applies to Easter, the end and beginning of the year.

Day 7 PEREIRA (COFFEE AREA) – MEDELLÍN

Breakfast. At the indicated time, transfer to Pereira airport to take a flight to the City of Medellín (Air ticket not included). Arrival in Medellín, known as the city of eternal spring and innovation. Transfer from the airport to the selected hotel, rest of the day free and accommodation. Day 8 MEDELLÍN (City Visit)

Breakfast. We will pick you up at your hotel to begin a panoramic tour of some tourist places in Medellín. We will start in the El Poblado neighborhood, a financial, hotel and commercial center; Cerro Nutibara, a natural viewpoint of Medellín and at the top of which is a replica of a typical Antioquian town. During the tour you will also be able to observe some of the educational and cultural spaces that this city has to offer: the Botanical Garden, the Explora Park, the Parque de los Deseos and the Parque de los Pies Descalzos. The Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of Medellín is the largest adobe construction in the world. Of course, you won't be able to miss Plaza Botero, where there are 23 outdoor bronze sculptures by Colombian master Fernando Botero, renowned Paisa artist. Additionally, you will enjoy a tour of the Medellín metro. In the end, I returned to the hotel. Rest of the day free and accommodation. Day 9 MEDELLÍN (Peñol and Guatapé Reservoirs Tour)

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning one of our representatives will contact you at your hotel to begin a tour to the east of the department. The route passes through towns like Marinilla, where we find colonial buildings and a fervent religious tradition; and through Nuevo Peñol, a municipality that replaced the old Peñol that was flooded to build the Peñol – Guatapé reservoir, at the end of the 1970s. We will visit the Piedra del Peñol, a rock 220 meters high, we will visit the municipality of Guatapé, where 20th century skirting boards and facades stand out on the houses, as well as the reservoir's boardwalk. Return to Medellín and accommodation. Includes transportation, guide and typical lunch. Duration: approximately 8 hours Operation: Regular service operates Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Note: Visitors can ascend the Stone by paying for the ascent as optional at the destination. From the top of the stone you can see the view of the reservoirs and some towns in the region.

Day 10 MEDELLÍN – CITY OF ORIGIN

Breakfast. Last day of the trip before returning home, make sure you take the best memories. At the indicated time, transfer from the hotel to the Medellín airport to take a flight to your city of origin or your next destination. Notes: For departure transfers, the night schedule applies for flights between 11:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., and for arrival transfers it applies for flights between 9:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. The rates are contemplated for daytime transfers, if night transfers a supplement applies.
