Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Iquitos - Ceiba Tops
Reception at the airport, brief orientation of the city on the way to the Explorama pier. Travel by boat 40km down the Amazon River to Ceiba Tops, where air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms with hot water will provide you with the comfort of home, in the middle of the Rainforest. Afternoon walk around a beautiful primary forest made up of large trees, such as the giant Ceiba tree, which gave its name to the lodge. After dinner you can listen to local music with guitar and flute at the "El Tucán" Bar, or hike to see alligators and other nocturnal animals.
Day 2: Ceiba Tops
Early morning excursion for those who want to see birds. After breakfast, boat excursion looking for the two types of river dolphins, gray and pink, on the way to visit a small community of the Yagua Natives, where your guide will explain about their culture. There will be the opportunity to appreciate some of the local crafts and also a demonstration of the use of the blowpipe, which, today, some of the Yaguas still use for hunting. In the afternoon excursion to the riverside town of Indiana and if the weather is good, you will be able to appreciate the sunset on the Amazon River.
Day 3: Ceiba Tops / Hanging Bridge / Ceiba Tops
Early departure from Ceiba Tops on a trip along the Amazon River by boat, crossing a narrow road between the Amazon River and Rio Napo by motorcar and continuing the trip along the Napo River by boat to ExplorNapo Lodge in time for breakfast. An excursion to the wonderful Hanging Bridge that is more than 500 meters long between the treetops and where the highest platform is located 35 meters from the ground. After lunch, a walk to the "ReNuPeRu" Ethnobotanical Garden where you can see more than 240 species of Amazonian medicinal plants cultivated by a shaman who will explain the uses of some of them. Return to Ceiba Tops in the afternoon in time to relax and enjoy the facilities.
Day 4: Ceiba Tops – Iquitos
Walking or boat excursion to appreciate more of the Amazon Rainforest or free time to enjoy the facilities in the middle of the jungle. Return to Iquitos for your flight to Lima.
