Combayo Windows Tour
8:00 am. Start of the tour with pickup from your hotel, for the trip to the town of Combayo and visit the COMBAYO windows: More than 3,500 years old, the Ventanillas de Combayo are the oldest cemetery in Peru. These pre-Hispanic tombs were carved into the steep San Cristóbal hill. The cavities have a quadrangular shape and some are rectangular. It is characterized by its crypts built on rocky cliffs. The Combayo windows, in addition to their cultural attraction, are located on the route of the “Comet Ventigris”, a variety of hummingbird or hummingbird unique in the world and in danger of extinction. These windows are in a better state of conservation than the Otuzco Windows. It is located 20 km northeast of the city of Cajamarca. They are not so well known because they are far from the city, but it is one of the oldest cemeteries in Peru. It is part of the "Qhapac Ñan" route.
